QUIrioZity ’22
INTER HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL IT QUIZ COMPETITION
On 12th February 2022, the Department of Computer Science of Union Christian College Aluva held a CS/IT Quiz competition called “QUIrioZity ’22” which has been running for the past few years without any problems. Students are able to compete with their knowledge and wits to place high on the leaderboard.
In light of the current pandemic situation, this year’s quiz competition was completely conducted online through Nearpod. Our competition was intended for students in the upper secondary level, preferably from a science background. Each school was allowed a maximum of three participants to participate. A total of 34 participants have registered with the provided Google form. The competition was divided into two rounds, which are named Round 1 and the Finals. There were 18 participants in the first round, and the top 10 positions were selected to continue to the Finals. The rounds consisted of 25 questions covering inventions and general knowledge about information technology.
Dr. Asha Das, Head of the Department, coordinated the competition along with the student coordinator Aksa Benny. Registrants were linked to a WhatsApp group for sharing rules and guidelines for the competition and as well as links/code for each round. Round 1 of the competition began at precisely 10.30 a.m. on 12th February 2022 and round 2 of the competition began at 11.30 a.m. On the same day, the winners were announced at 12.30 pm. First prize was won by Atul Biju from Carmel HSS, Chalakudy, and second place went to Ansa Mariya Babu from Carmel HSS, Chalakudy. E-certificates were given out to all participants.
